One-Click Ticket Generation: From Opportunity to Execution in Seconds
The gap between "we should build this" and actionable tickets just got a lot smaller. Here's how one-click generation works and why we built it.
The problem with the PRD-to-ticket handoff
Every PM knows the feeling. You've written a solid spec, the team is aligned, and then someone has to translate it into 15 Jira tickets — each one requiring its own title, description, acceptance criteria, estimate, and label. It's tedious, it's slow, and it's the exact moment where context gets lost.
We've heard this from dozens of teams: the handoff from spec to execution is where ambiguity creeps in.
What we shipped
Starting today, every opportunity node in your Opportunity Tree has a "Generate tickets" action. Click it once, and Specky's AI:
- Reads the opportunity title and description
- Breaks it down into epics, stories, and tasks
- Assigns priorities, estimates, and labels automatically
- Opens the Execution Bridge with the tickets ready to review and push to Jira or Linear
No PRD required. No manual copy-paste. The context travels with the tickets.
How the AI decides what to generate
We trained the generation model on thousands of real-world ticket breakdowns. It tries to follow a consistent pattern:
- 1 epic per major feature area
- 2–5 stories per epic, independently deliverable
- Tasks for cross-cutting concerns (auth, analytics, tests)
You can edit, add, or remove anything before pushing. The AI gives you a starting point — your judgment makes it right.
What's next
We're working on two-way sync: when a ticket is updated in Jira or Linear, Specky reflects the change. We're also planning custom ticket templates so you can enforce your team's conventions automatically.
Try it now — open your Opportunity Tree, right-click any node, and hit Generate tickets.
