Connect Google Workspace to Specky
Connect the Google Workspace services you choose — Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets — so product questions can use the documents, conversations, and meetings that already exist.
What Google Workspace does
The tool, in plain language.
Google Workspace holds the documents, email, meetings, and spreadsheets where product context accumulates between formal tools.
Why connect it to Specky?
Keep the useful context attached.
Connect the services you choose so questions about customers, launches, and delivery can use the context your team already created.
- Focused Gmail research
- Launch and planning context
- Documents and meetings beside product evidence
Choose the Google services Specky can use
Google Workspace uses one OAuth connection with separate service toggles. Specky only syncs the services you enable, and Gmail can be narrowed with a query so the first result stays focused.
Know what this connection is for.
A useful integration is clear about its boundary: what Specky can receive, what it returns to your product workflow, and what it deliberately does not do.
You provide
- The Google services you explicitly enable
- A focused Gmail query when Gmail is included
- OAuth permission for the selected Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, or Sheets scopes
Specky gives back
- Searchable product context from the selected Google services
- Source links back to the document, message, meeting, or sheet
- Evidence that can be cited in product questions, PRDs, and decisions
A real example
A support label in Gmail and a launch plan in Drive both mention activation friction. Specky keeps the source links attached so you can compare the customer language with the plan before changing the roadmap.
Connecting Google Workspace
Here’s the quick version. The setup guide walks through every field and screen.
- 1
Open Settings → Integrations and choose Google Workspace.
- 2
Approve the Google OAuth consent screen.
- 3
Select the services you want to enable.
- 4
If Gmail is enabled, enter a focused query.
- 5
Save the settings and run the first sync.
Before you connect
A Google Workspace accountRequired
Approve access for the Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, or Sheets services you want to use.
A focused first scopeOptional
Start with one service or a narrow Gmail query so you can check the first signals.
Bring the context your team already has
Searchable product context from the Google services you enabled
Source links back to the document, message, meeting, or sheet
A better starting point for questions about onboarding, customers, and delivery
Evidence that can be cited in PRDs, decisions, and outcome reviews
Before you connect it
Does Specky read all of Google Workspace?
No. You choose the Google Workspace services and Gmail query. Leaving a service switched off means Specky does not sync it.
Can I start with Gmail only?
Yes. Enable Gmail in Google Workspace and use a focused query, such as a customer-support label or a product feedback phrase, before expanding the scope.
What happens after the first sync?
After the Google Workspace sync, selected records appear as searchable signals and document context in Discovery. You can ask questions, inspect the source link, and connect the evidence to product work.
Can I disconnect it later?
Yes. Disconnect Google Workspace from Settings → Integrations. The connection and the signals it imported are handled by the same workspace controls as other integrations.
Bring Google Workspace into your product graph
Connect it in a few minutes, then let Specky do the reading.
