Connect n8n to Specky
Connect a self-hosted or cloud n8n workflow to Specky and automate the handoffs around product work.
What n8n does
The tool, in plain language.
n8n lets teams compose self-hosted or cloud workflows that call APIs, transform records, and route events between systems.
Why connect it to Specky?
Keep the useful context attached.
Connect n8n when you need control over the wiring: normalise feedback on the way in, or send approved Specky work to an internal process on the way out.
- Self-hosted automation
- Custom data shaping
- Internal tools and multi-step handoffs
n8n is a delivery channel
n8n is how updates leave Specky. Nothing is read back into your graph; use it when you want an approved update in front of people where they already pay attention.
Know what this connection is for.
A useful integration is clear about its boundary: what Specky can receive, what it returns to your product workflow, and what it deliberately does not do.
You provide
- A stakeholder update you choose to send from Specky
Specky gives back
- A delivered update through n8n
- A record of the context and decision behind the message
A real example
You approve a stakeholder brief in Specky and deliver it through n8n; n8n does not feed data back into the Product Graph.
Connecting n8n
Here’s the quick version. The setup guide walks through every field and screen.
- 1
Create a workflow with an n8n Webhook trigger and copy its production URL.
- 2
Paste the n8n instance URL and the workflow webhook URL here.
- 3
Add an n8n API key if you want Specky to validate the instance and list the workflow.
- 4
Activate the workflow before sending production events.
Before you connect
n8n instance URLRequired
The public HTTPS URL of your n8n instance, without /api/v1.
n8n API key (optional)Optional
Add an API key to validate the instance and let Specky list workflows. Webhook-only mode does not require one.
Workflow webhook URLRequired
Use an n8n Webhook trigger URL from the workflow that should receive Specky events.
Workflow ID (optional)Optional
Optional metadata used to identify the workflow in the integration card and event payloads.
Send the update from here
Send an approved update through n8n while the source work stays in Specky
Reach people where they already pay attention
Keep the update tied to the decision or evidence behind it
Before you connect it
How does Specky use my n8n data?
Nothing is read from n8n — it's outbound only. Specky uses it to deliver updates you choose to send.
What do I need before I connect n8n?
You will need n8n instance URL, Workflow webhook URL from your own n8n account. The setup guide walks you through each one.
How long will this take?
Usually a few minutes. You create a credential in n8n, paste it into Specky, and you are connected. Step-by-step instructions are in the setup guide.
Can I disconnect n8n later?
Yes — go to Settings → Integrations whenever you want. Disconnecting removes the connection and the data it brought in.
Can I use n8n on my plan?
Every plan can connect integrations. Your plan sets how many can be active at once, and a few providers are limited to Scale. Settings → Usage shows where you stand.
Bring n8n into your product graph
Connect it in a few minutes, then let Specky do the reading.
