Product Hunt Integration

What it does

Import launch-day comments and discussion on your product.

How your data reaches Specky

Specky pulls from Product Hunt on a schedule. A sync runs when you open your workspace if the data has gone stale, and you can trigger one by hand from the integration card at any time.

What you'll need

  • Developer Token (Required) — Personal developer token from your Product Hunt account.
  • Post Slug (Required) — The slug from your launch URL: producthunt.com/posts/<slug>.

    • Setup

    Go to Settings → Integrations, find Product Hunt, and click Connect.

    How to create a Developer Token

  • Go to Product Hunt → API Dashboard
  • Create an application (or use an existing one)
  • Under "Developer Token", generate a token for your own account
  • Copy the token

    • Finding your Post Slug

    Your launch URL looks like producthunt.com/posts/your-product-launch — the slug is the part after /posts/.

    How Specky uses Product Hunt data

  • Product Graph: Comments appear as graph nodes alongside your other feedback sources
  • PRD Generation: AI cites launch-day feedback when writing specs for a solo/small team
  • Aimed at builders who launched fast and want their first real feedback in the loop without a full CRM setup

    • After connecting

    Everything Specky pulls in from Product Hunt shows up in Discovery alongside your other sources, and feeds synthesis, clustering, and the AI chat's answers about your product. You don't have to do anything with it directly — it's there so the rest of Specky has something to reason over.

    Disconnecting Product Hunt removes both the connection and the signals it brought in.

    Troubleshooting

  • Connected, but nothing appears. Open the Product Hunt card and run a sync by hand. If it errors, the card shows the reason.
  • "Upgrade to connect". Your plan caps how many integrations you can connect at once, and a few providers are Scale-only. Settings → Usage shows where you stand.
  • Credentials stopped working. Tokens expire and get revoked. Reconnect with a fresh one — your existing signals are kept.
