Roadmap
What it does
The Roadmap provides a visual, shareable timeline of your planned features and initiatives. Unlike a Jira board (which tracks engineering tasks) or a spreadsheet (which lacks context), the Specky Roadmap links each initiative to its PRD, supporting decisions, and OKRs — so stakeholders can see not just what is planned but why.
The Roadmap supports three views:
- Timeline — a Gantt-style view showing initiatives across quarters
- Kanban — a Now / Next / Later board for high-level planning
- List — a sortable table for detailed planning and export
When to use it
- For quarterly planning — lay out initiatives across the quarter and identify conflicts
- For stakeholder communication — share a clean, high-level view of what's coming and when
- To track progress — mark initiatives as in progress or complete as work ships
- To identify scheduling conflicts — spot when too many high-effort initiatives overlap
- For board or investor updates — export a clean roadmap view
How to use it
- Open Roadmap from the sidebar
- Click Add Initiative to create a new roadmap item
- Fill in:
- Title — the initiative name
- Quarter / dates — when it's planned
- Owner — the PM or team responsible
- Status — Planned / In Progress / Shipped / Cancelled
- Priority — P0 / P1 / P2
- Link the initiative to a PRD, decision, or OKR using the Link button
- Switch views using the toolbar (Timeline / Kanban / List)
- Click Share to generate a public read-only link for stakeholders
- Use Export to download as CSV or PDF
